2008 Chevrolet Silverado MPG Test Details here.
Alliance Chevrolet provided us a brand new 2008 Chevrolet Silverado for MPG testing. We selected a route that combined highway & stop and go driving conditions. On our initial trip we traveled 43.7 miles and used 3.75 gallons of gas. We recorded our results and handed the truck over to Presidential Rides.
After the performance upgrades we completed, we repeated the MPG test on the same route as before. But, with a significantly different mpg outcome. This time the truck used 2.14 gallons of gas on the 43.7 mile trip.
Based on this test, The MPG modifications performed by Presidential Rides were not successful but quite significant returning an 8.8 mile per gallon gain.
If we drove this truck 15,000 miles per year at $4 a gallon, the MPG modifications would save us over $2,000. At 20,000 miles a year at $4 per gallon our annual savings would be nearly $3,000.
